Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information the Clutch Alarm app ("the app", "we", "us", "our") collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have. Please read it carefully — using the app means you accept the terms described here.
Clutch Alarm is a sports-alert app: you choose teams, players, and conditions (for example "close game", "shootout", "a player passing a points threshold"), and we send you a notification the moment it happens.
1Who is responsible for your data (data controller)
The data controller responsible for your information is Clutch Alarm. For any question, request, or to exercise a privacy right, contact us at privacy@clutchalarm.com.
2Our principles
- No account required. The app does not require sign-up, a name, an email address, or a password.
- We never sell your data, we show no advertising, and we do not track you across other apps.
- Data minimization. We collect only what is needed for the alerts you set up to work.
3What information we collect
3.1 A device identifier for notifications (token)
To send notifications to your device, we use a notification token provided by Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple's Push Notification service (APNs). The token is a technical identifier for the device and does not include your name or personally identifying details. We store it on our server and also use it as the key for saving your preferences — instead of an account.
3.2 The preferences and alerts you set up
- The teams, players, and leagues you follow.
- The alert settings you create: alert type, threshold (for example points difference or a number of points), and alarm/silent mode.
- A history of notifications sent to you, for display inside the app (for example the "Trophy Room").
This information is stored on our server and associated with your notification token.
3.3 Language and region
- Your language preference (Hebrew or English), so notifications arrive in the right language.
- Your device region code (for example IL), used to show "where to watch" — which TV channels broadcast a match in your area. The region code is country-level only and is not a precise location.
3.4 Information stored on the device only
Some preferences are stored locally on the device and not on the server — for example display mode (dark or light), hiding scores, the alarm sound, and first-run onboarding state.
3.5 Anonymous usage data (analytics)
We use TelemetryDeck, a privacy-first analytics service, to understand how the app is used (for example app launches, receiving or tapping a notification, finishing onboarding). These events are anonymous, contain no personally identifying information, and do not use Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA).
3.6 What we do not collect
We do not collect: your name, email address, phone number, password, precise location (GPS), contacts, photos, health data, advertising identifier (IDFA), or financial data. We do not perform cross-app tracking and we do not show ads.
4How we use information, and the legal basis
We use information solely to:
- Provide the core service — send the alerts you set up, at the right time and in the right language.
- Save your preferences and favorites between sessions.
- Show broadcast information ("where to watch") for your region.
- Improve the app and its stability, using anonymous analytics.
Legal basis for processing (under the GDPR, for users in the European Union):
- Performance of the service and legitimate interest — saving your preferences and sending the alerts you requested is the core of the service you chose to use.
- Consent — receiving push notifications requires your consent through the operating system. You can withdraw it at any time in your device settings.
5Sharing and third parties
We do not sell information. We rely on service providers ("processors") that help us operate the app:
| Provider | Role | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging) | Notification delivery | The notification token and the notification content |
| Apple (APNs) | Notification infrastructure on Apple devices | The notification token and the notification content |
| TelemetryDeck | Anonymous analytics | Anonymous usage events |
| Railway | Server and database hosting | The information described in Section 3 |
Sports data sources: match, score, player, and broadcast data comes from third-party data providers (such as Bzzoiro/BSD and 365scores). We pull sports data from them — we do not send them any of your personal information.
We may also disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect our rights and the safety of our users.
6International transfers
Our servers and service providers (Google, Apple, TelemetryDeck, Railway) may store and process information outside your country, including in the United States and the European Union. When personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we rely on recognized transfer mechanisms (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) or on the provider being subject to an approved protection framework.
7Data retention and deletion
We keep your information for as long as you use the app and your alerts are active:
- Your preferences and alerts are kept until you remove them in the app.
- If you uninstall the app or turn off notifications, your notification token becomes invalid and active alerts are deactivated.
- Temporary technical records (such as duplicate-notification prevention) are deleted on a rolling basis.
You can request full deletion of the information associated with you at any time by contacting privacy@clutchalarm.com.
8Security
Information is transmitted using encryption (HTTPS/TLS), and access to it on the server is restricted. However, no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9Your rights
Depending on the law that applies to you (including the GDPR in the EU, the CCPA/CPRA in California, and the Privacy Protection Law in Israel), you may have the right to:
- Access the information we hold about you and receive a copy of it.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete your information ("the right to be forgotten").
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
- Portability — receive your information in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time (for example, by turning off notifications).
California residents: we do not "sell" or "share" personal information as defined under the CCPA/CPRA, and you will not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
To exercise any right, contact privacy@clutchalarm.com. We will respond within the period required by law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authority (in Israel — the Privacy Protection Authority).
10Children
The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the relevant local age of consent, such as 16 in some regions). We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you become aware that a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the "Effective date" at the top of this document, and for material changes we will notify you within the app. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
